GMA 15 Desired Future Conditions - 4th Cycle
The representatives of GMA 15 are scheduled to convene a meeting on October 8, 2026, during which public comments regarding the proposed DFC will likely be considered. The form below may be used to provide comments to the representatives of GMA 15 regarding the proposed DFC.
Public Comment Form regarding the Proposed Desired Condition (DFC) for GMA 15
Per 36.108(d-2) of the Texas Water Code, "A period of not less than 90 days for public comments begins on the day the proposed desired future conditions are mailed to the districts. During the public comment period and after posting notice as required by Section 36.063, each district shall hold a public hearing on any proposed desired future conditions relevant to that district. During the public comment period, the district shall make available in its office a copy of the proposed desired future conditions and any supporting materials, such as the documentation of factors considered under Subsection (d) and groundwater availability model run results. After the close of the public comment period, the district shall compile and submit to the district representatives for consideration at the next joint planning meeting: (1) a summary of relevant comments received; (2) any suggested revisions to the proposed desired future conditions, and the basis for those revisions; and (3) any supporting materials, including new or revised groundwater availability model run results."
On April 7, 2026, the proposed desired future conditions were mailed to the districts marking the beginning of the public comment period for the member districts of Groundwater Management Area 15.
GMA 15 - Proposed DFC Transmittal Letter - 20260407
After completing all necessary public notice requirements and a quorum of representatives present, the representatives of Groundwater Management Area 15 (GMA 15) met at the Offices of the Victoria County Groundwater Conservation District on March 12, 2026, at 9:30 AM. During the meeting, the representatives of the member districts considered proposals to amend the Desired Future Conditions (DFC) of relevant aquifers within the management area.
The representatives of the member districts of GMA 15 approved a motion to propose the amendment of the DFC, establish interim DFC values, and approved the plain-language explanations for the proposed changes to the previously adopted DFCs for GMA 15 for distribution to the districts in the management area in accordance with 36.108(d-2) of the Texas Water Code, as follows:
